Typical products and delicacies
In Calahorra, authentic flavours are part of the journey. The richness of Calahorra’s cuisine invites you to try its local delicacies, made with fresh, traditional ingredients.
If you love authentic flavours, this is the perfect opportunity to discover the city’s most characteristic products. Ideal as gifts or to enjoy at home, they will offer you the authentic taste of La Rioja during and after your visit.
The Calahorra vegetable garden is one of the pillars of its cuisine, providing fresh, quality ingredients that translate into delicious dishes. Vegetables, in particular, stand out for their variety and flavour, which has earned the city the title of “City of Vegetables”. This produce is the soul of many of the region’s traditional dishes, which combine simplicity and excellence to offer a unique gastronomic experience.
In addition, Calahorra celebrates its relationship with the vegetable gardens through events such as the Vegetable Gastronomic Days, a tribute to the rich offerings of the land, which coincides with the season of greatest diversity in its produce. The city is also home to the Vegetable Museum, the first of its kind in Spain, which celebrates and preserves the tradition of Calahorra’s vegetable gardens. Visitors can thus enjoy not only the flavours, but also the history behind each ingredient.
