The San Francisco Pilgrims’ Hostel in Calahorra is located in Rasillo de San Francisco, the highest part of the city, on the site formerly occupied by the convent of the same name. Renovated in 2002 by the Government of La Rioja, which owns it, with the help of the Ministry of Development through funds from the 1% cultural programme, it retains its original structure, with the main brick façade facing the Cuesta de la Catedral. The interior is newly built, as is the rear façade, in Rasillo de San Francisco, where the hostel is accessed.
The entrance door leads to a restored, sunny terrace from which you can enjoy a magnificent view over the River Cidacos, stretching from the Sierra de Carbonera to Alfaro.
